Muslim Social Services is set to offer a 12-week Healing through Art series for newcomer children (6-12) Saturdays beginning February 27th. The facilitators are psychotherapy students at WLU who have experience in holistic approaches to dealing with trauma and counselling and who have experience in art therapy. This is intended to be a safe space for children with experiences of uprooting to explore changes in their lives through creative expression.
We recognize that some newcomer parents are hesitant to send their young children to programs and invite parents to accompany their children to the workshops if they would like.
We can also provide bus tickets.
